What is nutritional therapy?

Using the functional medicine model, Jack uses nutritional therapy as part of a lifestyle-approach to optimize wellness, and improve client goals and outcomes.

Jack’s approach to nutritional therapy:

“My approach to nutritional therapy is conducted in a very personalized manner, adapting to your needs:

  • Some will need more help than others.
  • Some will require correspondence with another practitioner / doctor, whilst others will be working with just myself.
  • Some cases resolve themselves very quickly, whilst others take longer.

Typically, an initial consultation is a two-part process, taking place over two separate days.

The rationale behind two initial nutritional therapy consultations is that whilst the first appointment kick-starts the process, the gap between consultations gives me time to conduct more research and investigation into your case that may be required – so that our approach leaves no stone unturned.

During your first appointment, more time will be spent discussing your complaints, your history, and your life.
It’s during your second appointment that we focus on your bespoke nutritional therapy and lifestyle programme – beginning your specific interventions.

Follow-up consultations are conducted in a ‘review and renew’ type fashion, to make sure you keep seeing the improvements you’re looking for.

When appropriate, I may also recommend specific lab tests, in order to learn more about the goings on of your body on a biochemical level, and get to the root of the problem/challenge.

Tailored, specific supplementation programmes can also play a role. However, nutrition and lifestyle change will always come first for therapeutic change. Supplementing around an unhealthy lifestyle and diet doesn’t typically work.”
