Jack Galloway BA(Hons) PgDip CISSN is a London-based clinical nutritionist, health pioneer, personal trainer and transformation coach. He uses a functional medicine approach to help his clients. This means looking at every aspect of the person and the complexity of their biological individuality to design programmes. Jack offers programmes and packages to suit his broad range of clientele: from chronic illness and hormonal imbalances all the way to full body and lifestyle transformations. He also owns a private training studio in South-West London, where he sees his 1-1 personal training clients.

What is functional medicine?


Functional medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease, using a systems-oriented approach, which engages both the patient and the practitioner in a therapeutic partnership. It is an evolution in the practice of medicine that better addresses the healthcare needs of the 21st century, with a focus on prevention, and restoration of biochemical balance.

The competent functional medicine practitioner spends time with patients, listening to their history, considering interactions between the patient’s genetics, behaviour, nutrition, habits, environment and lifestyle.

The intention is not to belittle traditional medicine, but rather to recognize its limitations, and from a functional medicine perspective to focus on prevention (or management) of disease.


How do we do this?

  • Lifestyle Medicine (e.g. exercise / movement / sleep restoration)
  • Good nutrition
  • Nutraceuticals / Supplementation
  • Alternative health modalities & concepts being continuously developed (such as hydrotherapy, IV vitamin drips, and lipid replacement therapy*)
  • Referral to other health professionals, when needed

*not directly administered by me, but other health pros I work alongside when necessary.

The main premise of the functional medicine approach starts with considering your health and its maintenance – as opposed to only once you are already in a state of disease. It treats the problem, not just the symptoms.

Bear in mind however that I do work with MD’s, and may consider referring you to an appropriate expert if appropriate (for instance if I deem that the nature of your management has crept beyond my scope), who I can work together with to help you.
